In January 1950, Wilbur Berger established Monarch Glass on Rachel Street in Montreal, providing quality custom mirror and glasswork for both retail stores and the home. Understanding that there was more business with glass, Monarch started manufacturing and then diversified to importing mirrors and frames. In 1965 Monarch Glass got the very lucrative contract of manufacturing frames for the Expo and renamed itself Monarch Specialties Inc. During this time, we moved our operations to a larger location to increase our import business, while continuing to use our extensive glass knowledge to manufacture furniture such as glass top tables and TV stands. In 1997 we started importing from Asia offering over 1000 different items of furniture for virtually every room in the home. The addition of our import line has increased the Monarch catalogue to the impressive size it is today, featuring bedroom, living room, accent, home office and many more categories. In 2007 we custom built a state of the art 200,000 square foot Head office and distribution center in Laval Quebec using the most efficient technology available. Within our 32 foot clear space we are able to accomodate 20,000 pallet positions to warehouse our "Stock Program". Our facilities include our main office and a 15,000 square foot showroom, where we present all our new products. Monarch is a leader in the furniture import and distribution business.
