I would never put this in a room that is used a lot. This was for a guest bedroom that is rarely used. Very difficult to sleep on. It is very firm due to the drink tray in the middle. I purchased a really nice memory foam mattress topper and that helps greatly. It is on the short side for sleeping as well. If you are over 5 foot 9, you have to sleep a little on the diagonal in order to have full coverage. For sitting it is a bit uncomfortable, and again, short. The price was great, it looks really good. For me it works since the room is not used often. If you are looking for comfort...DO NOT get this model. If you have a circumstance such as mine, it is a good deal!

It is definitely a step up from a futon. It's a good option if you can't afford a pull-out couch, but it's not terribly comfortable. I put a few comforters and mattress pads down and guests say it's not too bad. It looks a lot better than a futon too.
