Overall, I am happy with this set - despite several big disappointments. It is very attractive and a true white, which I wanted, and not antiqued, distressed, or an off-white. Let the buyer beware, though. I read another review on another site that said their desk unit was a yellowish white. It is my guess, it all depends on luck, whether you get white or off-white, depending on the production day/week. I doubt there is quality oversight at the Malaysian factory.

I also wanted solid wood, and, after much research, was told this set is made from parawood which comes from rubber trees. I like that this is a renewable resource, and, for the price of the set, felt this was a decent choice of material. I was more than disappointed that, while the drawers and sides of the cabinets are made of wood, the back is cardboard! Seriously! The separate cabinet tops and corner top appear to be made of mdf - exactly what I was trying to avoid. As for assembly, the cabinet units come assembled, but you do need to screw the ball feet on (no big deal), then (bigger deal) screw the support leg onto the corner top, and brackets into all three tops to join them together into one unit. There are no pilot holes provided in any of the tops where the leg or metal brackets need to be secured. Be sure to have a drill handy. With all that being said, I can live with these faults. It is a very attractive corner desk set and well-constructed for the price.
