the top is made of maple veneer

I bought this item for my 15 y/o daughter and she seems to be quite happy with it. She and her friend put it together without difficulty. I really like the storage drawers as they hold many of her art supplies.

The description for this item stated that the top was made of maple; however, it is actually a maple VENEER, which I actually expected considering the price of the item.
